Machine manufacturer Sumitomo (SHI) Demag has revealed that the company is planning to unveil a newly-updated version of the El-Exis SP at the upcoming K Show 2019.
The K fair will be held 16-23 October at Messe Düsseldorf, in Germany.
The new El-Exis packaging injection moulding machine now offers a 20% reduction in energy consumption over earlier models.
This helps companies to meet their sustainability targets, while also reducing total cost of ownership and improving return on investment.
Large and small versions will be available, both of which will include a hydraulic accumulator supporting injection speeds of up to 1,000mm/s.
This allows moulders to produce thinner packaging items with consistent process repeatability.
At the show, the El-Axis SP will run a mass-manufacturing demonstration using a 72-cavity mould tool delivering 130,000 water bottle caps per hour.
Centralised monitoring also helps to improve performance and control energy consumption.
The El-Axis SP offers a series of other features, including in-mould labelling and multi-component moulding for premium packaging.
Sumitomo (SHI) Demag will be located in Hall 15, booth D22 at the K Show.
