Roemheld Rivi, manufacturer of magnetic clamping plates for securing dies and moulds, is planning to showcase its M-TECS series plates at the upcoming K Show.
Made from ferromagnetic material, the clamps can be locked and released across the full surface area of the plate, increasing stiffness and resisting any tool flex or bending.
The systems work without any permanent electrical current and only require a short pulse to activate and deactivate the magnets.
The M-TEC series plates can withstand temperatures up to 240°C.
Permanent magnets generate a field which penetrates a few millimetres into the tool to hold even heavy machinery weighing several tonnes. Even moulds with complex geometries can be precisely clamped in absolute alignment, with no deformation.
Uniform distribution of the clamping force ensures low die wear.
Each clamping system is customised by Roemheld Rivi using standard components. The solutions can be configured with regards to size, geometry, clamping force and fitting. The clamps can be retrofitted to existing machines in just a few hours.
