An already close relationship between German technical moulder EMKA Group and its mould-making supplier Bekto Precisa has got even closer as EMKA bought out its Bosnian partner.
Velbert, Germany-based EMKA , a specialist in producing plastic and metal parts for the electronics and electrical sector, boosted its injection moulding capacity with the addition of Bekto’s two plants in Goražde, Bosnia Herzegovina.
EMKA’s expansion in southeastern Europe contributes another 150 employees to bring its total workforce to 2,100. Apart from the newly renamed EMKA Bekto business, the group runs plastics moulding plants in Arnedo, Spain and Birmingham in the UK, with other production facilities already in Bosnia, France, Serbia and Germany.
Today, EMKA Bekto is a leading toolmaker in Europe with an output of some 900 moulds per year. It operates injection moulding machines from 20 to 500 tonne clamping force from suppliers including Engel, Sumitomo Demag and Arburg.
Bekto Precisa was a family-run toolmaker and plastics parts moulder for the automotive and electrical products industries, founded by Bosnian entrepreneur Redzo Bekto in 2005.
