BNL, a specialist manufacturer of plastic bearings, has completed the expansion of its operations in Thailand.
The company has moved into a larger facility adjacent to its previous location in Rayong, Thailand.
BNL is a UK-based company, with headquarters in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire and operations in key global locations.
The company delivers products for a series of industries, including automotive, food processing, copy machines, appliances and cash machines.
Rayong is home to a series of vehicle assembly plants operated by transplant companies including Ford, Suzuki and SAIC. A series of Tier suppliers also operate in the same locale.
Automotive applications for BNL products include steering columns and other vehicle control functions.
The new, 50,000 sq ft facility, which will support a doubling of previous capacity, is expected to allow expansion into new regional markets.
Jonathan Wilkinson, CEO of BNL stated: “Our team in Thailand have done a fantastic job in making this development happen quickly and efficiently. Our customers are our other key partners, collaborating with us to develop innovative plastic bearing solutions. We are encouraged by their support for our expansion and understanding of how our growth will in turn offer them new and improved services with which to develop and grow their own businesses.”
BNL Thailand features a series of injection moulding machines, with both manual and automated assembly functions. The location also includes related R&D, product design, quality, tool design and development operations.
The new site, which has the potential for further future expansion, came online in October.
