Asahi Kasei Europe is planning to relocate its headquarters within Dusseldorf by the second half of 2020.
Located at Dusseldorf Harbor, the new offices will consolidate sales, marketing and R&D activities to enhance the company’s business approach to the European automotive industry, Asahi Kasei announced 13 May.
Asahi Kasei established its European HQ at Seestern, Dusseldorf in April 2016, to establish a foothold in the European automotive industry.
In October 2019, the company opened its R&D centre in Chempark Dormagen, south of Dusseldorf, in order to provide local technical support and cooperate with European companies and universities.
Laying the basis for further growth in Europe, the new headquarters will house Asahi Kasei Microdevices Europe, currently based in Seestern, as well as the R&D centre that is now still in Dormagen. The new location will also accommodate the company's for sales & marketing functions.
Asahi Kasei Spandex Europe (AKSE), a manufacturer of elastic fibres based in Chempark Dormagen will not relocate to the new site.
“This [relocation] will enable us to further accelerate our business activities in Europe, especially towards the European automotive industry,” said Hideki Tsutsumi, managing director of Asahi Kasei Europe.
