Engineering, prototyping, tooling and low volume product specialist ARRK Europe have upgraded and expanded the range of services offered at its Kings Norton, Birmingham facility, which it acquired in October 2017.
Next to entering into a strategic alliance with neighbour Paintbox, a provider of paint solutions for the automotive industry, ARKK has completely refurbished the moulding shop
with the installation of 6 KraussMaffei injection machines, in sizes ranging from 80T to 1600 tonnes, robotic arms, material handling systems and a CMM machine. The new site, situated close to the heart of the UK automotive industry, has also created around 45 new jobs in quality, programme management, production and logistics, with more opportunities on the horizon, the company said.
“In addition our partnership with Paintbox offers a very competitive “one stop shop”, with moulding, fully automated robotic painting, assembly, EDI and logistics,” ARRK European MD, Tony Lowe pointed out.
ARRK has another moulding shop in Petersfield, Hampshire, equipped with larger-sized injection moulding machines up to 3200 tonnes, offering production tooling service and in-house tooling refurbishment, modification and maintenance capability.
ARRK’s investment in Kings Norton is part of a growth strategy that has included other investments at its facilities in the Netherlands, Poland, France and China.
