Link3D, an additive manufacturing workflow and additive manufacturing execution system (AMES) specialist located in New York City, has developed an ‘Additive Material Recommendation System', or AMRS, designed to simplify material selection processes.
Integrated into the existing Link3D industrial 3D printing workflow solution, it will guide engineers in selecting the most appropriate materials based on qualitative and quantitative specifications for production.
According to a report from McKinsey, one of the nine major technological limitations organizations face is a ‘lack of design knowledge' in the ‘Design and Engineering' stage. Link3D has therefore launched AMRS in order to close the gap for understanding material performance across 1000+ materials and 500+ 3D printers.
The AMRS tool is an intelligent recommendation system that allows engineers who may be relatively new to additive manufacturing, select a material most fitting for their 3D printing builds through an intuitive filtering system. Engineers with an existing understanding of AM materials can access technical data without having to manually review material manufacturer's spec sheets.
