Russian packaging manufacturer LLC. D-Polimer is reported to be investing in an expansion of its plant capacity with a focus on moulding rigid plastics containers in the west of the country.
The firm, based in the town of Desnogorsk in Russia’s Smolensk region, is investing around €1.3m in the construction of new warehousing and production buildings to accommodate modern moulding technology, according to the regional government.
Industry reports quote the Smolensk authority as saying D-Polimer has benefited from tax breaks granted by the regional and local municipal authorities in support of its latest development project.
Currently, D-Polimer produces a range of stretch film packaging and moulds polypropylene cups and food containers on its Desnogorsk industrial site. It is equipped with a number of Italian manufactured Macchi blown film lines for turning out food wrap and pallet transit stretch packaging.
D-Polimer draws its polymer raw materials from leading western plastics manufacturers including Dow Chemical Co., Sabic and ExxonMobil.
