Raffaele Abbruzzetti has taken over as the new manager of Arburg’s Italian subsidiary in Peschiera Borromeo, effective 1 Jan.
Abbruzzetti succeeds Björn Norén, who retired at the end of 2018, but will continue to be involved with the Arburg through his family business Sverital – a long-term automation partner of Arburg in Italy.
Abbruzzetti joined Arburg Srl in November 2018 and has worked closely with Norén, who Arburg said will remain available in an advisory capacity for a smooth handover.
With a degree in electrical engineering, Abbruzzetti has “many years of experience” in the sale and servicing of industrial systems in the packaging sector, Arburg said in a statement on 4 Jan.
In addition to the change in management, Arburg said it intended to build on its successful partnership with Sverital in the future.
The German machinery supplier has been working with Sverital since 1957 in areas such as turnkey solutions.
In the future, Arburg said, the partnership between the two firms will not be limited to automation and will incorporate digitalisation to highlight the potential of Industry 4.0 for Italian customers.
