Oxea lifts force majeure at German site

Oxea GmbH has lifted the force majeure declared at its production site in Oberhausen, Germany in November last year.
The Monheim, Germany-based supplier of oxo intermediates said the force majeure was declared on 18 Nov, following “an incident beyond Oxea's control at an important raw material supplier”.
Oxea said 4 Jan that production has now returned to normal.
“The site partner has now successfully rectified the operational disruption. As a result, Oxea now has sufficient raw material at its disposal again and will be able to gradually meet its delivery obligations,” the company added.
Oxea manufactures oxo derivatives, such as alcohols, polyols, carboxylic acids, specialty esters, and amines. The materials are used for the production of plastics, coatings and cosmetics.
Oxea and its site partners Celanese, Versalis, Topas, Clariant, Johnson Matthey and Air Liquide employ more than 1,400 at an industrial area covering 120 ha in Oberhausen.
