First-time entrant Gerhard Schubert GmbH has won the prestigious “Factory of the Year 2018” award competition, a contest initiated in 1992 and open to companies headquartered in Germany, Austria or Switzerland with 100 employees or more.
The jury awarded this year’s top prize to Gerhard Schubert’s Crailsheim site, in Germany, citing the plant’s innovative capability, the outstanding quality throughout the entire value chain and respectful treatment of employees.
Family owned, Gerhard Schubert is a market leader in top-loading modularly-designed, robot-based packaging machines. According to the judges, the company stood out from the other competitors in the science and business category by ‘thinking ahead in a way that is very innovative, the very high-performance indicators and the way it is driving digitalisation forward with a clear strategy’.
Another strong point was the close collaboration between Gerhard Schubert GmbH and its suppliers. “We produce exclusively in Germany, as a matter of conviction, and we rely on long-term partnerships,” explained Ralf Schubert, Managing Partner at Gerhard Schubert GmbH. “This creates trust and an ideal platform to ensure the flexibility we need.”
The award ceremony will be held during a two-day conference taking place on 21 and 22 March 2019 in Ludwigsburg, Germany. On the first day of the conference, Ralf Schubert will hold a presentation; the second conference day will include a guided tour of the Crailsheim site for interested attendees.
