Dow DuPont speciality products division has launched an initiative to combine together its customer solutions and material capabilities for electrical vehicles amid growing demand.
The Ahead initiative includes capabilities in autonomous driving, connectivity and related infrastructure from across the new DuPont.
“The creation of a dedicated team and offering targeting vehicle electrification, autonomy and connectivity make sense for DuPont,” said Randy Stone, business president, DuPont transportation & advanced polymers.
The Ahead approach pairs the company’s material and electronics capabilities in a bid to improve DuPont’s market position in the vehicle electrification and supporting infrastructure space.
These include adhesives, high-performance elastomers, engineered thermoplastics, fluids/speciality lubricants, electronic materials, high-performance fibres and safety materials.
Ahead will provide solutions for lightweighting; battery pack components and assembly; thermal management/safety; electric motors; powertrain/chassis as well as E&E applications.
