Thorsten Berding, managing director Windmöller & Hölscher Sp.z.o.o, in Warsaw, Poland.

After thirty years of operating in Poland through a sales agency, Germany-based Windmöller & Hölscher, a family-owned supplier of machinery for film extrusion, printing and converting plastics, last month established a subsidiary company in the country’s capital of Warsaw. The reason, said W&H, was to ‘move even closer’ to its customers, among others, by making service and maintenance available to customers on-site by local technicians. W&H has seen its turnover in Poland double over the past five years.

Torsten Berding, sales manager Europe North, has been appointed managing director of Windmöller & Hölscher Sp.z.o.o. Ultimately The new subsidiary will be staffed by a team of eight, providing a point of contact where people speak the same language as the customers, ‘for shorter distances’, as Berding said.
