Austrian packaging group, Schur Flexibles has completed the acquisition of French flexible packaging producer UNI Packaging.

With the new addition and introduction of new CEO Thorsten Kühn in late April, the Baden, Austria-based company expects to increase sales to over €500m in 2018.

The purchase follows a trio of acquisitions in February, through which Schur purchased Dutch operations Cats Flexibles Packaging, Hänsel Flexible Packaging and Nimax from the Clondalkin Group.

Headquartered in Averdoingt, France, UNI Packaging has a network of seven production sites and five logistics hubs – predominantly based in France, the UK and Austria - and European sales offices.

The French business was acquired by Lindsay Goldberg, the parent company of Schur Flexibles, and will be integrated into the group in the medium term.

The transaction, terms of which were not disclosed, includes UNI’s both dairy and fresh food businesses in France and the UK.
