German automotive wiring supplier Baltijos Eukutecas is investing €1.5m in setting up new production operations at the Lithuanian free economic zone of Klaipeda.
In a 17 April statement, the Klaipeda FEZ said the operation will be up and running in three months and will create 80 job opportunities.
Baltijos Eukutecas is a specialist manufacturer of electric wiring systems - including cable manufacturing and device wiring - with most of its output for the automotive sector.
“We are relocating here because of the attractive business environment and the space and flexibility there is for us to grow,” explained Baltijos Eukutecas' CEO, Ina Vaicekauskiene.
Baltijos Eukutecas' operation will be set up at FlexStart, a manufacturing and administrative complex in Klaipeda FEZ.
The facility will span 2,700 sq m, with a total of 6,000 sq m of dedicated production space and 1,400 sq m of office space.
“Baltijos Eukutecas is already an active supplier for one Klaipeda FEZ based company – the electric bus producers Dancer Bus,” according to Eimantas Kiudulas, CEO of Klaipeda FEZ.
“Hence, we see a great synergy developing in the supply chain for electric vehicle components within the FEZ,” he added.
Klaipeda FEZ's automotive and electric vehicle ecosystem currently includes Dancer Bus, Yazaki, Albright and Be-Ge.
