Machine demonstration during the Kautex Open House

Kautex Maschinenbau, a leading German manufacturer of extrusion blow molding machines, rolled out the red carpet for customers and other visitors to its recently-opened new assembly hall at the company’s Bonn headquarters in Germany during a well-attended two-day Open House event in March.

Attendees were treated to presentations on highly relevant topics such as energy efficiency and the Industry 4.0 smart factory trend, automation and service. The event included a tour of the new hall, and of the 31 demo machines installed there, several of which were in operation, demonstrating the capabilities of the newest technology.

Among the live demos was a packaging machine at the technical center where the mould trials of E-PET bottles was in process.

Two virtual machines for training purposes were also made available for up-close inspection by visitors.

The new hall, said Kautex, was needed to serve the growing packaging and automotive industries.“We are continually striving to reduce lead times for our customers. This expansion of our Bonn location should improve our future capacity for on-time delivery,” said managing partner Andreas Lichtenauer during the event.

The Open House 2018 was the first company event attended by new majority shareholder, Austrian-based Plastech Beteiligungs GmbH, which acquired 74.9% of the shares in Kautex Maschinenbau on 23 Feb.
