Swiss-based Maag Pump Systems, has acquired German machinery supplier Ettlinger Kunststoffmaschinen GmbH for an undisclosed amount.
The Königsbrunn, Germany-based Ettlinger announced 9 Jan that the two companies expected to leverage combined expertise, products and technologies to become a major player in the polymer, compounding and recycling industries.
Under the terms of the agreement, both companies will continue to operate in the market under their existing names. Ueli Thuerig, currently president of Maag, will head the combined business.
"This expansion is an exciting idea. Bundling the products and strengths of Maag and Ettlinger will deliver a new breadth of custom solutions for plastic filtration," Ueli Thuerig said commenting on the acquisition.
“Maag’s strong sales and service channel will provide us a greater penetration into new markets and will allow us to provide excellent local support to our existing customers,” says Volker Neuber, CEO of Ettlinger.
In the coming weeks, the two companies will focus on integrating their teams, the statement added.
Ettlinger’s core expertise is the development and manufacture of high performance continuous melt filters and injection moulding machines.
The company’s melt filters are used for processing heavily contaminated material streams as well as extrusion applications where pressure stable filtration is desired.
The Swiss company Maag, a business unit of Dover Corp, manufactures gear pumps, pelletising systems, and filtration systems for demanding applications in the plastics, chemical, and petrochemical industries.
