Two UK flexible packaging companies, Nottinghamshire-based Mercury Packaging and CPS Flexibles in Leicester, which merged recently have now changed name to Fusion Flexibles Ltd.

The move, said the company on 31 Dec, will help complete the integration of the two businesses and reinforces its position as a leading UK flexible packaging manufacturer for the food, publishing, retail and security markets.

The two midlands-based companies announced their merger earlier in March.

The merged entity continues to operate from two manufacturing facilities, offering advanced printing, extrusion, conversion and lamination technologies.

The combined turnover of the companies is £16million with a forecasted growth of 25% over three years.

“Considerable thought and debate has gone into the decision to adopt one name especially as both Mercury Packaging and CPS Flexibles were strong and long-established brands,” explained Simon Rose, Fusion Flexibles’ managing director.

According to Rose, the “logical next step” in the integration of the businesses was to operate under one name.

“For customers, it will be simpler and easier to do business with us, and they will benefit from better access to high quality products and in-depth experience of key target markets,” he further added.
