New Bostik plant in Gujarat

Arkema’s speciality adhesives business line, Bostik, has opened a new production facility in Gujarat, west India, in a bid to expand its manufacturing footprint.

The company also runs another production facility in Bangalore, south of India.

In an 11 Oct statement, the company said the two production units aim to serve the “fast-growing” demand in India for adhesives in industrial markets.

The new facility will produce “advanced” hot melt pressure sensitive adhesives (HMPSA) for a number of industrial sectors such as flexible lamination, transportation and footwear production.

The supply, said Bostik, will support the strong growing demand for such products in both India and export markets.
