Turkish flexible packaging company Ispak Ambalaj has opened a new manufacturing and production facility in Izmit, Turkey to supply to brand owners in Europe and North America.
In a , 4 May statement, Ispak said the €70m facility is designed and equipped with ‘smart factory' technology and will increase the company's flexible packaing production capacity to 40,000 tonnes a year.
The unit, which is Ispak's second manufacturing plant, will supply to brand owners in Europe and North America in food, beverage, pharmaceutical and tobacco industries.
“This is a significant milestone for Ispak because it now enables us to fully participate in European and North American markets,” said Ispak general manager Eser Erginoğlu.
Part of the Kibar Holding Group, Ispak aims to be one of the top 20 packaging converters in Europe by 2020.
The new Izmit facility, according to Ispka, is equipped with advanced technologies namely for blown film packaging production, triple-layer lacquering and automatic slitting and die-cutting. It also features a hygienic clean-room production area and a solvent recovery unit.
