UK-based HellermannTyton has launched the construction works on its first production facility in Poland. The factory will be located in Kotunia, in the country’s western part.

The project will be carried out by Skanska, and it is estimated to be worth some 40m zloty (€9.6m), the construction company said in a statement. The designed production hall will be fitted with a total floorspace of 13,000 square metres.

Andrzej Kostrzewa, the project manager at Skanska, said the investment will be completed in 2016.

HellermannTyton makes a wide range of cable ties, clips, clamps, plugs and insulation products with the use of plastics. These include PVC, PS, PE and PP.

Under the plan, the facility in Kotunia will have an output capacity of 4,300 tonnes of plastic elements per year, according to the statement.

"We are starting a new investment for our client. It will be the first production facility of HellermannTyton sp. z o.o. in Poland, as well as a very important investment for the region," said PaweÅ Haberland, the director of the project team at Skanska.

HellermannTyton has production facilities in 12 locations in ten countries, which make around 20,000 products. The group had a total of 3,808 employees worldwide as at 31 December 2014.

Group sales were €597m in 2014.
