Royal interest in Belgian auto recycling

On a visit to the Brussels Motor Show last week, King Philippe of Belgium (pictured third from right) stopped at the stand of recycling organisation Febelauto for a chat with Bruno Philippe of Federplast.be and a plastics technology student.

At the show, recycling of automotive plastics is being shown on the Febelauto stand with support from the Federplast.be plastics trade body, Dr Boy, the WVOK plastics training scheme, and three plastics technology schools.

On the stand, a Boy injection moulding machine is producing a container lid manufactured from recycled polypropylene. The lid and container are made from PP recyclate from Galloo Recycling and additives from Clariant.

Federplast.be said the initiative is part of the Plastimobile project and received financial support from Plastics Recyclers Europe and the car manufacturers VW, Renault, Toyota, SsangYong and Volvo.
