Saudi Arabian materials supplier Sabic has appointed Aectra Plastiques SAS as the sole distributor of its whole Sabic polyolefins portfolio in France.
The announcement was made 12 July during the opening ceremony for Aectra Plastiques’ new office in Lyon, France.
Aectra Plastiques SAS is part of the Hromatka Group and was founded earlier this year in order to serve the French polyolefin market as a distributor.
As part of the agreement, Aectra Plastiques will market, sell and distribute Sabic’s polyethylene and polypropylene products in all industries, including automotive and pharmaceutical effective 1 Jan 2019.
The Saudi company is claimed to be the third largest polyolefin producer in the world, with over 500 different grades of polypropylene and polyethylene.
Sabic said it expects the new partnership to help reinforce its position in the French market and to find new customers.
“We are excited to combine our strengths and expertise together with Aectra Plastiques SAS in order to support Sabic’s growth ambition in the country [France],” said Thomas Granier, managing director of Sabic France.
“With the large Sabic polyolefin portfolio, we are ready to offer our customers a complete range of products for all applications: injection moulding, blow moulding, roto moulding, extrusion…,” said Bruno Thomasset, operating director of Aectra Plastiques.
Aectra Plastiques’s parent company, the Hromatka Group, is based in Switzerland and is a plastics distribution group with presence in 10 European countries.
The company also has two manufacturing plants and produces its own compounds under the brand name SAX Polymers.
