Norma Group, a German supplier of joining technology, has completed the previously-announced acquisitions of Indian water management specialist, Kimplas Piping Systems Ltd.

The group said in a 5 July statement that it would be immediately consolidating Kimplas and expects an additional €10m in sales in 2018 following the acquisition.

“The acquisition of Kimplas will see Norma Group expand its water management portfolio and strengthen its position in Asia,” said Bernd Kleinhens, group chairman.

According to Kleinhens, water management, along with electro mobility, is one of the key markets in which Norma intends to grow in the future.

Based in Nashik in Western India, Kimplas has been developing and producing thermoplastic connection solutions since 1996.

The company’s product portfolio includes compression fittings, sprinklers and drippers as well as valves and filters.

Kimplas’ products, which are primarily sold in Indian and Asian markets, are used in drinking water treatment and in supplying drinking water and gas to households.

The Indian firm generated sales of €21m in the financial year ended 31 March.

Norma Group manufactures machine joining components including hose couplings, clamps and quick connectors.
