European vinyl window door profiles extruder Salamander Industrie-Produkte GmbH has launched a new production hall at its Polish manufacturing site at Włocławek to satisfy rising market demand.
The German family-run company, based at Türkheim, Bavaria, installed a number of extrusion lines in the new building which covers an area of more than 3,000 square metres. The facility was formally inaugurated by senior management members at a ribbon cutting ceremony early this month.
Salamander is pursuing a growth strategy through the expansion in Poland to meet demand for its range of high quality, energy-saving door and window profile systems in the region. The firm product portfolio includes sliding systems and folding shutter systems.
"The continuous expansion of our production capacity is conditioned by the high increase in demand for Salamander Systems, as well as by the constant evolution of the global market," Salamander chief executive officer Götz Schmiedeknecht was quoted as explaining.
The German company, with other divisions manufacturing fencing, outdoor decking and bonded leather products, has developed since its foundation in 1917 from moulding PVC shoe heels to a leading position providing plastic construction components.
In its one hundredth year in 2017, Salamander recorded an overall business turnover of around €236m. The group employs a global workforce of around 1,400 with main production sites at in Germany, Poland and Belarus.
Almost two years ago, the group launched a €700,000 profile laminating plant at its site at Rábade in north western Spain to produce finished profiles in a range of special colours.
In December 2017, the group continued its international growth strategy by establishing Salamander Sistemas de Portas e Janelas Ltda., a sales and logistics offshoot in Brazil. The subsidiary, with a warehouse in Curitiba, aims to sell specially developed European made profile products in South America.
Today, Salamander distributes its profile systems in more than 70 countries worldwide.
