Fanuc UK has unveiled a software platform that is capable of collecting and managing data from up to 1,000 machines.
The automation and robotics specialist first unveiled MT-Linki at the UK’s manufacturing technology event, MACH 2018, in April in Birmingham.
MT-Linki, said Fanuc, is a tool monitoring solution that can help manufacturers maximise data-driven productivity.
The single software platform is able to collect, manage and visualise data from Fanuc and non-Fanuc-controlled equipment and devices via an OPC UA server protocol.
The fully scalable, out-of-the-box system can monitor and manage data from one to one thousand machines, Fanuc said in a statement.
Explaining the process, Fanuc said MT-Linki pools the production data over a secure network into a single centralised point, meaning it can be analysed remotely from the production office.
This cuts out the need to visit each individual piece of plant equipment on the factory floor.
“Connectivity is undoubtedly driving change throughout the UK’s industrial landscape… In its purest form, connected manufacturing should allow a factory manager to remotely monitor production data for all plant equipment from one single point of access,” said Tom Bouchier, managing director of Fanuc UK.
This uncomplicated thought process, he noted, was central to the development of the MT-Linki system.
