Biesterfeld Plastic has entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with BASF for the distribution of that company’s thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer, Elastollan, in central, western and southern Europe.
Biesterfeld’s portfolio already comprises ester and ether TPUs, as well as light-resistant aliphatic types and innovative products with various hardnesses from Shore A 35 to D 83.
Elastollan is well suited to challenging applications in a wide range of industrial sectors: due to its high resistance to wear, abrasion, and tearing, its excellent tensile strength and mechanical properties, it has found application in everything from gear knobs and door handles to ski boots and medical tubing.
The TPU partnership between BASF and Biesterfeld goes back twenty years, Carsten Buschmann, Head of Product Management TPU at BASF, pointed out.
“With Biesterfeld at our side as a strong pan-European distribution partner, we have the best possible starting point to optimally position Elastollan on the European market,” he said.
