Plastics machinery supplier Kiefel GmbH is expanding its production capacity at Freilassing, Germany, with the addition of new production halls.
The German company broke ground for two new “state-of-the-art” assembly lines on 9 April, to produce machinery for plastic films with higher flexibility and shorter delivery times.
The new facilities will cover 2,600 square metres and feature various convenient design details, including the supply of electricity, compressed air and cooling water through floor channels .
“This expansion will enable the planned growth over the coming years at the Freilassing location,” explained Helmut Strecha, head of production.
Completion is scheduled for 2018.
Kiefel said it anticipated economic growth will continue in the major markets, with order intake remaining high for the plastics specialist.
The company, owned by Germany’s Brückner Group, said it is gearing up for the growth with the construction of a new education centre, which started in February.
Kiefel also expanded its warehouse and pre-assembly areas in 2017.
