Huntsman Corp. has appointed Daniele Ferrari, chief executive officer of Italian chemicals manufacturer Versalis SpA, as a new independent director to its board of directors.
The Woodlands, Texas-based company said the appointment, effective 7 March, brings the number of Huntsman directors to eight, seven of whom are independent directors.
In addition to his role in ENI-owned Versalis, Ferrari is also the chairman of Matrìca SpA, a joint-venture with Novamont focusing on renewable chemistry.
He is a former employee of Huntsman and has over 30 years of experience in the chemical industry.
Ferrari is also president of PlasticsEurope, an association of plastics manufacturers, and a board member of Conseil Européen de l'Industrie Chimique (CEFIC).
