French materials supplier Arkema SA and additive manufacturing pioneer EOS GmbH selected Frankfurt’s Formnext tradeshow 14-17 Nov. to announce a partnership in high temperature powders.

Arkema said the partnership would see the two companies developing novel high temperature powders (Kepstan PEKK) adapted to EOS’ latest platform, EOS P 500.

The agreement is part of the company’s development of industrial applications directly with end-users and benchmarking additive manufacturing versus traditional processing technologies such as injection moulding and stock shape machining.

According to Arkema, estimated at $15.9bn in 2016, the global 3D printing market is expected to grow to $35.4bn by 2020, driven by strong growth in industrial applications.
