Packaging company Klöckner Pentaplast has opened a kp i.centre in Spain where it will help its customers develop collaborative solutions for food consumer products (FCP).
Located in Sant Cugat, 30km away from Barcelona, the centre combines a dedicated area for marketing, sales and R&D experts with laboratory, prototyping facilities, a supermarket and an FCP market research centre.
The supplier of rigid, thermoform and flexible film products said the new centre would provide a “collaborative space” to help FCP customers bring products to market more quickly and economically.
The unit has integrated industrial and technical capabilities to deliver “a full experience” from concept to production of a packing solution.
“Close collaboration with our customers is the key to success”, explained Helene Roberts, director, FCP Marketing & Innovation.
The kp i.centre has a “customer inspiration area”, a supermarket and a kitchen, which are designed for showcasing product innovations.
“The idea is to demonstrate how packaging looks on a shelf or counter in store, emulating real consumer experiences for our customers,” Roberts added.
The laboratory on the site includes several instruments for analysing and creating different packaging solutions.
