A year after celebrating 25 years of Igus in the UK, the manufacturer of plastic components has opened its newly-expanded premises which has almost doubled the size of its engineering support facility.

The company said a 6-digit figure was invested in the expansion, which involved the addition of a new upper floor to accommodate the growing sales and technical support team, while freeing up ground-floor space for the engineering team to meet demand for fully assembled products.

Based in Northampton, UK, the company, employs 110 people and specialises in the production of sophisticated plastic components, including bearings and chains for applications ranging from automotive plants to theme parks.

“As UK industries embrace ever more efficient manufacturing methods, we have seen particularly strong demand for ready-assembled packages that can be quickly and cost-effectively deployed on site,” explained Matthew Aldridge, managing director.
