Austrian machinery supplier Engel will be launching a new customer portal at Fakuma 2017, in Friedrichshafen, Germany, 17 to 21 October.
e-connect, said Engel in a statement, is aimed at simplifying and speeding up communications between processors and Engle, while providing an overview of the machinery, the processing status of service and support orders and the prices and availability of spare parts.
This new version of the customer portal, noted Engel, will also meet its current and future requirements of Industry 4.0.
“In developing the new software, the aim was to provide customers with more specific information, establish contact with them even faster and provide the best possible support to meet the challenges of Industry 4.0,” said Verena Paradeis, product manager for e-connect.
In the new system, from the first order onwards, all machines and system solutions supplied by Engel are stored, with the current status also shown.
Users can also reproduce the structure of their individual machinery in the system and assign production lines to different halls or departments online.
