UK-based thermoforming business, Kingsmoor Packaging, has worked closely with food manufacturer Greencore to deliver four food-grade packaging solutions for 11 ‘grab & go’ lunch options offered by supermarket chain Asda.

The British supermarket released its “flavours from around the world” food to go range featuring 40 new salads, grab boxes, wraps and snacks.

According to the Somerset-based packaging firm, the UK food to go market is set to grow 35% by 2021, prompting grocery retailers to launch fresh culinary ideas.

Produced for either salads or pasta recipes, the thermoformed bowls have either separate lids, or single web heat-sealed polyester lidding film and were manufactured in either black or clear rPET, which contains at least 50% post-consumer recycled waste.

Kingsmoor announced in July that it had maintained its AA grade BRC global standard certification for a second year, making it a reliable packaging supplier for food and consumer products industries.
