Extrusion machinery maker Boston Matthews has expanded the engineering department at its manufacturing base in Worcester, UK. The company said the expansion has been prompted by increasing demand from customers around the world and across a wide range of industries and applications.
It has hired more mechanical and electrical design engineers to add to the existing team who will work on both the Boston Matthews extrusion machinery and its Munchy brand recycling equipment. In addition to its 3D CAD systems, the company has bought new electrical design software packages
Boston Matthews said it has also made investments in new technology. This includes high precision machine component manufacturing equipment and precision digital measurement equipment. It said this enables the company to more efficiently design and manufacture very complex die heads, tooling and other precision component parts.
Boston Matthews managing director Simon Brookes said: “We are experiencing a high level of demand for our products because of our ability to work with customers and take them to the next level, which is fantastic but it does place particular demands on engineering. The new additions to our team have been very carefully selected to add to our already highly experienced and skilled design team.”
